The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to tell Nigerians if he has freed Kabiru Sokoto, who is the only Boko Haram terrorist convicted for the killing of over 50 worshippers at the Mandalla Catholic Church near Abuja. The National Coordinator of HURIWA, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, and the National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf, in a statement yesterday, recalled specifically that prior to his sentencing, the terror mastermind, Sokoto, was accused of withholding information on the plan to bomb St. Theresa Church. Niger, Dangote conclude plans on N148bn sugar factory

Niger State government and the Dangote Group have concluded plans for the takeoff of a N148 billion ($450m) sugar factory in the state, just as the state government has assured investors of a conducive environment for their investments. The state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, represented by his deputy, Ahmad Muhammad Ketso, stated this at a meeting held at the Estu Nupe’s palace, Bida, between officials of Dangote Industries and representatives of Jima-Nupeko villages in Lavun and Mokwa local government areas of the state – the host community – for the proposed sugar factor, to seal the deal. Dangote Industries has so far indicated interest to acquire 16,000 hectares of land for sugar cane farming and sugar production in the state. Police intervene in Wizkid, Linda Ikeji feud

Talk about childish and immature display of actions.. I keji had filed a threat to life complaint against the singer after he publicly threatened to send his teenage cousin to beat her up. Confirming that the blogger lodged a complain, the Lagos State police command’s spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent (SP) said the Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni has brokered peace between them. She said: “Yes, the command received a petition of threat to life from Linda Ikeji against Ayo Balogun. The CP has waded into the issue between Wizkid and Linda Ikeji. So far there have been too many attacks for comfort and the Government is still making enquiries...while lives are being lost. Nigerian government working “silently” to resolve herdsmen and farmers clashes

The Federal Government on Sunday said it is working “silently” towards finding a lasting solution to the incessant attacks allegedly being perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen across many states. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this during a special prayer for the stability of the nation by an Islamic group, Saadatul Abadiyyah Organisation of Nigeria. Mr. Mohammed was also honoured as the Grand Patron of the group at the event held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
