Reports said that it was the following day after Happy
Fashion had returned home that he secretly hoodwinked his wife, promising to take
care of the household. He later in connivance with his friend, Obakpororo
allegedly carried the baby and put her in a black nylon bag, after which the
child was transferred to another female friend
who took the baby to a waiting
jeep driven by unidentified man.
It was the couple’s eldest son that reportedly saw all that
transpired, while, the baby’s mother was said to be sleeping during the
episode. Another account stated that she was taking her bath when the baby was
whisked away.
The suspect, Happy Fashion and two of his friends have been
arrested and are at the Ovwian Aladja Police Station in Udu Local Government
Area. The whereabouts of baby that was sold for N2million is still unknown as
at the time of the report.
Effort to get comments from the DPO of Ovwian Aladja Police
Station on the development via phone were futile as he declined comments,
saying he could not respond to questions on the issue on phone but the police
image maker in the state, Mrs. Celestine Kalu confirmed that the investigation
was ongoing.
